A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF RUSSELL, RUSSELL COUNTY, KANSAS, FROM SECTION 79-5001 TO SECTION 79-5017, KANSAS STATUTES ANNOTATED, AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO.

Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 15, Article 12 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, the City of Russell, Russell County, Kansas, hereby elects to exempt itself from, and to make inapplicable to it, Sections 79-5001 to 79-5017 K.S.A. and amendments thereto, which apply to said city, but the provisions of which do not apply uniformly to all cities.

Section 2. The provisions of Article 50 of Chapter 79 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated shall not apply to any taxes levied by the City of Russell which are or may be authorized by state law to be levied. Amounts produced from any levy shall not be used in computing any aggregate limitation under Article 50 of Chapter 79 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated.
